So what were YOU doing this morning at 5:35?
I was dragging my carcass out of bed, through subzero California temperatures, off to the shower a full hour early. After making a cup of coffee and dumping some cereal into a bowl I schlepped off to the inhumane frigid air of my office and woke up my computer.
"Time for the webinar!" I told my Mac, just before 6:00. It made a snotty noise. Too early.
Deb at Lagniappe Marketing, the blog Bird on a Wire, and Heaven only knows what other organizations, has created a webinar called The Girlfriends Guide to the Business of Blogging, and it started yesterday. This audio seminar covers a lot of information and opinions about blogging, from business to personal. I have now listened to three sessions and been very impressed.
Hard to beat this morning's speaker, Marcy of The Glamorous Life Association, however. Marcy is one of my blogging buddies, but even with reading everything she posts and following her every move to the point of stalking, there was so much valuable material for bloggers in her presentation. Plus, who else can be clever and witty at 6:00 IN THE MORNING?! Certainly not moi.
I said I was gonna make a badge but after further thought I decided to frame it. I don't get up at that hour for anybody, Marcy, so this was BIG for me. HUGE.
In case you missed Marcy's webinar session, I Tweeted it live (hashtags: #GirlfriendsGuide and #GGTTBB), and my Twitter address is @foolery. Please try to listen to it if Deb releases the recording for purchase. Bloggers will NOT regret it. And contact Deb at GGTTBB to see what is still available; there are still a lot of exciting topics and speakers to come. And most of it happens after the sun rises here on the west coast -- bonus.
Thanks Deb and Marcy!

If it makes you feel any better, I was already out running by 5:35 a.m. My days start at 4:50 over here on the east coast. That feeling? Where you can barely keep your eyes open by 3 p.m.? Where fantasies of you actually *sleeping* in your bed far out weigh all those things that used to seem to much more *exciting*? Of falling asleep on the couch just like your grandmother? Yeah. That's awesome.

I would totally get up early for Marcy!

Deb, you're certainly welcome!
Marcy, you did SUCH a great job and were well worth getting up early for. I'll buy you a jalapeno martini if you'll buy me one back!
CBW, I'm thinking Marcy should come to BlogFest next year and give this talk so we can all write off some travel expenses. Yeah. Like I have any idea how to do that.
AR, DON'T CHANGE A THING in the way you blog. It's masterful.
Bob, you know I have about as much glamor as a cowpie. My character is safe.
Thank you all for plunking down and putting your feet up. Adore you ALL. : )

Getting up at 5:35? Glamorous Life?
One of those doesn't fit, characteristic-wise, that is.

Idunknow. Opinions are like belly buttons, everybody's got one. I actually like the way I futz around blogging.

Okay. I am clearly behind on things. Gotta go catch up....thanks;)

This sounds wonderful. Is there a cliff notes version? I'm envisioning a seminar at Blog Fest, even. Would that be a bloginar or a festimar?
In any case, sounds wonderful.
p.s. Every weekday I drag my carcass out of bed at 5:30 and drive 50 miles with eyes half closed to be sitting chained to a desk by 7:30 a.m. It truly sucks. Let's make some money off this blogging so we can quit our sucky jobs.

You are truly awesome for not only getting up SO DANG EARLY but for being so kind with your compliments...
I actually got up at 4am out of fear and panic of my headset not working....it is amazing I got thru the conference.
It was SO WEIRD to be one sided. And without a laugh track! Just felt odd- like I was talking to myself in my office, in my pajamas. Thank goodness it wasn't a video seminar!
Really. LOVE YOU for this.
Drinks are on me when you come down.
:)
