Congratulations upon the release of your new best-selling book, Going Rogue: An American Life!

I wish to share something with you, however, and I wanted to do it privately, because . . . you know . . . the biased media and all.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines rogue in the following ways:
I can only guess your meaning of "rogue" here, but I'm sure those meanies in the media will have a field day with this. So what I'd like to ask is,
How do you like your oats?

3 : a mischievous person : scamp
4 : a horse inclined to shirk or misbehave
5 : an individual exhibiting a chance and usually inferior biological variation

It's kinda funny. Here's this lady, a private citizen, minding her own business....NOT running for any political office and yet CNN has decided that she is sooooo important that they need to do polls on her popularity.....as compared to the President.
That's like asking the public if they like the Beatles or Richard Nixon better.

There's nothin' upstairs. If she's the best they've got - that scamp - then I feel really bad for the right wing.
I don't *hate* her, I just wish she would go away. I find her irrelevant.

Sorry, miss-spelling in my post. 'someone had a bug up their...'is what I tried to say. A group in the capitol, in Alaska suit against Palin almost weekly while she was in office. It was and is costing the state of Alaska a lot of money. I don't know how much. Just shrugged it off since she's not in office anymore. Stopped thinking of it....

Try living in the same state. I could send you the papers. The endless, endless, lawsuits brought against Palin, the state has to settle. The sheer cost as long as she was in office we (in Alaska)had to keep paying for the pleasure. Really don't know what was going on in the capitol but someone had a but up...and would not let go. Daily happenings and investigations still ongoing as far as I can tell but closing down a little in the press. We'll see........

Palin really gets under your skin...doesn't she? And meanwhile the Renos and Clintons of the world just get ignored.
Don't feel bad, a lot of intelligent women seem to have an uncontrolable urge to hate this woman.

@SMBS -- So if I dont bash someone, I support her? Can we extrapolate from here -- I havent seen you type ONE SNARKY THING about Charles Rangel, Jesse Jackson, Barney Frank or Sean Penn anywhere lately (all members of your gender set), so may I assume you support them?

Looks like my point has been made.
Even funnier is who supports (defined as not actively bashing) a different version of a successful woman - such as Hilary Clinton or Janet Reno.

I come from a long line of rogues, from the Welsh horse theives in my distant familial past to my beloved grandfather, who was also a rake (look it up, I'm not explaining outdated slang this early in the day). Mz Palin am not one of us. This has nothing to do with my feelings regarding her...I'm just all about the accuracy.
Shade and Sweetwater,
K (who wouldn't buy the book if it was free, because she doesn't do politics or politicians)

I would like my oats served by that shirtless husband of hers;)

Just my opinion, but I think Palin speaks before thinking and leaps before looking.
Oh, and I think there was a moratorium on the use of the word "maverick."

*LMAO* at CBW's comment.
That is all.

Never mind. And damn it all I can't delete a comment.

According to Miriam - Webster, you missed a definition.
Posted by: Elaina | November 17, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Right on point, as usual!
I know this won't happen, but I wish she would do an interview with someone who would call "BS" on her "not quitting, reloading" thing (at the very least). She has always quit when the going got rough.
Not that I wasn't happy to see her go . . .

Good point!!! I love it.

*snicker* I was trying to decide if I should read it, just to be fair. But honestly? I have no desire.

On a lighter note -- as always, thanks for reading and commenting! ; )

I dont deny -- or SUPPORT -- anyone because of race or gender. She has rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. Nothing is ever her fault. Blame, blame, blame. She sounded like an ungifted 12-year-old during her Katie Couric interviews because Katie had it in for her. Whaa? And, while I am grateful to the brave women of the early 20th century who suffered for womens rights, much of the womens lib of the latter part of the century trivialized the earlier movement. And Palin further trivialized a womans role in public service by QUITTING to write her book. As if I reeeeeally needed that book. I owe Palin nothing.

I thought it was just a misprint. For "Going Vogue."

Amazing how women, specially successful women don't just dislike this woman....they hate her.
What ever happend to women's lib and support of the sisterhood?
